Reflexology offers a holistic, non-invasive and gentle treatment to support both men and women while trying to conceive. Trying for a baby can be an exciting time, but it can also bring stress and overwhelm, especially if there are complicating factors. Although applied to the feet and lower legs, reflexology is considered a whole-body treatment and is often used for its calming and relaxation benefits - both of which can be valuable during the fertility journey. It can provide supportive care while trying to conceive, whether you are trying naturally or undergoing assisted fertility treatment such as IVF.

Is there any evidence for Fertility Reflexology?
Much of the success around fertility reflexology is anecdotal, but there are studies out there which support its efficacy. A data collection study by the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists followed 180 people aged 24–46 who were trying to conceive and receiving reproductive reflexology. The study reported that 68% conceived, either naturally or alongside IVF/ICSI, over an average of 11.32 treatments.
I studied Reproductive Reflexology at the Seren School of Reproductive Reflexology with Barbara Scott, and am a member of the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists. You can find me, along with other practitioners, on the listings page.
How can reproductive reflexology support you?
Reproductive reflexology is a holistic approach to aiding fertility, with pressure point massage being applied to the feet. If possible, it's useful for both members of the couple to come for treatments, as both male and female factors often play a role in conception.

Reproductive reflexology takes a holistic approach, working with the body as a whole and focusing on overall wellbeing and reproductive health. For women, many treatment plans may begin by trying to correct cycle abnormalities, balancing hormones and managing stress levels - creating optimal conditions in the body for conception to occur. Working in this way can also be helpful for managing women's health issues, such as endometriosis, PCOS and PMS.
For men, treatment may focus on supporting overall wellbeing and addressing factors that may be relevant to reproductive health, including stress and lifestyle.
If applicable and you are comfortable sharing, it can be really useful for you to send over any fertility test results (both male and female) to me prior to your first session.
Lifestyle factors and fertility
There are multiple lifestyle factors - such as diet and exercise - which can have an impact on fertility and sperm quality. We can discuss these in your session if you have any concerns/questions.
What happens during a reproductive reflexology treatment?

If you book in for a Reproductive Reflexology treatment with me, I'll begin by building a picture of your current situation. Prior to your session, I will send you a form to complete and may request any medical results for you and your partner, if applicable.
During your first session we'll go through your form and go into more detail (don't worry, it will be very laid back and relaxed!) before commencing treatment.
Having someone to chat to about the situation aside from your family or medical professionals can be really liberating. It's a chance for you to be listened to without judgement and feel supported in a safe, non-judgemental environment.
Reproductive Reflexologists can offer support and a listening ear during an overwhelming and stressful time, and help you to understand what may be going on inside your body.

I have clinics in both North Somerset and Somerset and would love to hear from you. If you are looking for a member of the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists (ARR) near you, you can find a local therapist on the ARR listing page.

While looking for help online, I found a fertility health and treatment clinic in London and had a very positive experience. Everything was handled professionally and explained step by step.
